If you’ve ever been to Israel, you will agree with me when I say that there is something amazing about walking on that piece of land. I literally felt at home in a foreign place I had never been before. The Bible tells us that Israel is set apart. Israel is God’s land. Israel has future significance. These things are certainly felt when you step foot on that holy ground. But another reason why Israel is unmeasured is because Jesus walked throughout the land. Therefore, Jesus (the Word) penetrated the soil and anyone with a relationship with Jesus feels it when they go there. Two thousand years later, the Word is bursting forth from Israel’s soil.
Our key verse today is one of my favorites. Let me say it aloud again: “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Hence, the Word of God is powerful. His Word will break through the darkness with great light. His Word will shut the mouths of liars, close doors where wickedness reigns, open eyes to the gospel, and will stop the enemy from flourishing. TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS.
The world, culture, government, and the church have changed dramatically in my lifetime. I have literally watched our country, which was founded on biblical principles, push God out. Good laws have been replaced by wicked laws. With that said… right now, something POWERFUL is happening in our country. This week, April 19-25, 2026, America is reading through the Bible to celebrate the 250th birthday of our nation. For one week, the entire Bible will be read… read by prominent leaders like government officials (including President Trump), pastors, ministry leaders, actors, and Christian influencers. You can join the live feed by going to Americareadsthebible.com. I’m positive that this will greatly impact our country. How could it not?
So, what can we do? We can read the Bible too. We can engage by watching the live feed. And we can PRAY. Pray that the gospel will bring multitudes to faith in Jesus. Pray that righteousness will overcome evil. Pray that wickedness will be revealed, corruption will be exposed, and evil leaders will be taken out. Pray that places of sin will be shut down, abortion clinics will close their doors, professors in secular universities will denounce their humanistic thinking and embrace Christianity, churches will return to the whole gospel, hate will dissipate, and hope will be restored. Pray that what’s happening this week from our nation’s capital will affect our leadership for generations. Pray that we will see good penetrate through every venue.
And then thank the Lord that He WILL DO what He said He would do as His Word is going out.
