We are gearing up for our Fearless Faith Bible study, a study I wrote quite a few years ago. I forgot how valuable this study is to every Christian. Recently, I wrote about how Jesus honors faith above most everything else. He was forever commending people for their faith and rebuking those who exerted little to no faith. In our exploration of faith, the Bible tells us that belief is the cornerstone of faith. We MUST believe. Believe in what? First and foremost, we must believe God. You may think… I do believe in God. I wouldn’t be a Christian if I didn’t believe in God. And that’s honorable. But I’m talking about believing GOD. There is no “in” before the word God. There’s a difference between believing in God and believing God.

Scripture gives us absolutes… absolute truths about God. Absolutes that can cement our belief. One of those absolutes is that God NEVER LIES. Hence, we can trust Him at His Word. God CANNOT go back on His Word. It’s not that He won’t, but He can’t. Why is that? Because that’s His nature. It’s not a part of Him, it’s who He is.

Let’s look at this through the lens of Scripture… God told Moses that He would use him to deliver the people from Egypt… and He did. God told Noah that He was going to destroy the world with a flood… and He did. God told Joshua that He would demolish the walls of Jericho… and He did. God told His people that He was going to bring a Messiah… and He did. And Jesus told His disciples that He would die and rise again on the third day… and He did.

So, is God capable of handling your situation? Will His purposes prevail in the world and in your life? Will every prophecy not yet fulfilled come to fruition? Is God holding you right now? Is God still seated on the throne? Is He still in control? Will He catch us if He asks us to jump? Our answer to these questions can be found in the pages of Scripture… a resounding YES. ABSOLUTELY. 100%. The Bible alone should cement our belief in God and God and alone.

Here’s an assignment for you. Get a piece of paper and write on it…

GOD IS BIGGER THAN ______________________________!

In the blank, write down your most difficult situation, the most hard-to-reach person, or the impossibility you are facing right now. Then post this where you’ll see it every day. Remember what the Bible says about God. Remember that He did for so many others what they could not do for themselves. Hold onto this and trust God in it.
