The other day, I was shocked when horrible accusations were brought against one of my favorite pastors. He has ALWAYS been faithful to bring truth to God’s people, faithful to his wife, and has a thriving church. But he has also stood against cultural ideologies and has gotten involved in the political arena seeking to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. Immediately, I knew these accusations were not true… not because I refused to believe it or out of ignorance… but because I have never witnessed anything amiss… to my knowledge, he has never compromised.
Here's the thing… Satan knows his time is running out. And right now, he’s coming against pastors, leaders, podcasters, Bible teachers. Not just any… but those who are speaking out against cultural ideologies, those who are leading people by the Word of God and truth. He’s not coming against Progressive pastors and leaders because they are not a threat to him. They have twisted the Word of God to fit their agenda. They pick and choose what they like from the Bible and ignore other biblical mandates. He’s coming against those leaders who have not drifted, who have remained faithful to the whole counsel of God’s Word, and those who are leading people to Jesus. He’s coming against those who are not afraid to speak up for truth.
We are living in a day of GREAT deception. Jesus said deception would reign in the end days. Not long ago, a pastor shared how AI can be very deceptive. He showed clips of people from his church saying things they normally would not say. It looked very real. Then he told his congregation that it was not true and everything had been AI generated. The sad reality is that many Christians believe whatever they hear. I read some of the comments about these false accusations against this pastor: “I liked him.” “Wow, I’ve been listening to him for a long time, but not anymore.” Very sad.
With that said, what do we need and what should be do in this age of lies. First, we need discernment. Discernment to know what’s right and what’s wrong. Our verses in Proverbs tell us that “paying attention and listening carefully” is what gives us discernment. Make Bible study a part of your day, always asking the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and heart to receive what God is saying. Ask Him for understanding. And second, we need to pray for our pastors, leaders, Bible teachers, Christian podcasters. Make this a priority. If your pastor or teacher is refusing to bend to the culture, then they are on Satan’s radar. He will try anything and everything to take them down. Our prayers can protect them. Let’s walk with our guard up and use those weapons at our disposal… the Word of God, prayer, and the Name of Jesus.
