There are certain verses or passages that we are drawn to... I would say that these verses are NOT those we frequent. Why? Because they confront us with a hard reality... temptation and sin. We get comfortable in our sin. And the longer we allow it, the more immune we become to it. I doubt we think about the ramifications of sin. We may not be actually engaging in it but allowing it into our thoughts, our homes, our hearts... we in essence are no better than those sinning.

Here's a reminder... everything (EVERYTHING) the culture is promoting is a slap in God's face. Everything the world is lifting up is against the Word of God. It's hard to find movies or TV shows that are pure and honor God's Word, except for those that are developed by Christians. Think about it... they promote living together without getting married, sex before (or outside) of marriage, lifestyles God calls sin, gender reassignment is ok, horrible language, calling evil good or good evil.

We can easily get sucked in because Satan brings with it story lines that warm our hearts, a great cast of characters that we fall in love with and dealing with struggles we all face. But the answers they offer are almost always against God's Word. And the longer we watch these things or allow them in, the more we become immune to sin. Sin is not something we should entertain. Sin is very serious, and it keeps us from hearing God's voice. It separates us from Jesus.

I cringe at the thought of not hearing God's voice on a daily basis. But as I read these words this morning, I was confronted with my own issues on sin. I hope this encourages you today to stay away from anything that slaps God in the face. ANYTHING! I'm more aware today for sure.
