Imagine being this man... lame probably from birth. Never walked. Never worked like his parents. Never running with his friends, playing ball, or skipping home from school. All he knew was begging. But then one ordinary day, everything changed for him. He met Peter and John, the disciples of Jesus who had what no one else had - the power of the Holy Spirit and the ability to bring healing to this man through the Lord. I love what Peter said to him... "I don't have any silver or gold, but I will give you what I do have." He came for money, but left with so much more - legs that worked. Oh my goodness... the joy he now had. Imagine how EVERYTHING changed for him.

We often think that we don't have what it takes. We don't have what others need. We are without, depleted. That is not true. Peter writes in 2 Peter 1:3: "By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life." Here's the thing... we have been given GREAT treasures and blessings. I think it would be good if we would take the time every day to just think about what God has given to us.

He's given us ALL His love (a love that no one else can give us), ALL His grace (a grace that sustains us), ALL His strength (a strength that carries us), ALL His mercy (a mercy we do not deserve), ALL His faithfulness (a faithfulness that never lets us down), ALL His presence (a presence that is always with us), ALL His life (a life we cannot find anywhere else, but in Him). He's given us His never-ending promises, hope, assurance, abundance, wisdom, knowledge. He's poured ALL of His truth into us. I would say we're VERY wealthy, wouldn't you?

When we focus on what we have been given, we realize just how rich we are... not in earthly wealth, but in heavenly wealth. So, let's move about today in what we have. And let's not hold it in, but let's give it out like Peter did on that day many centuries ago. Someone in your life needs what you have... they need to hear truth, they need the love of Jesus holding them, they need assurance that it's going to be okay. They need to hear about the One who came to give them life. Imagine how someone's life might change because you gave them what you have? Let this encourage you and spur you on today.
