These words from Acts remind us of a glorious truth: God is always showing us evidence of His presence. This morning as I reflected upon this
truth, I reminisced with God as I was reminded of the times He showed up in my life in magnificent ways.
Like the time I was having a miscarriage, and I could not get ahold of Lou (before cell phones). I drove myself to the hospital and for hours as I wept, a lady (I think she was a volunteer) stood by my side, held my hand, and spoke comforting words to me. Or the time, when I was young, I was called on to give a testimony in front of the whole church. As I sat there waiting, I was having a full-blown panic attack (speaking in public unglued me), but just as my name was called, a peace I had never known flooded through my body. I shared my story with confidence and peace on that Wednesday night. Or the time Betsy broke loose of my hand in a store swarming with people. As I screamed for her, a saleslady found her just moments later. Anything could have happened that day.
In addition to the way He has shown His evidence in my personal life, I’ve also seen many evidences through Solid Truth Ministries. When I began this ministry twenty-five years ago, I knew the word “truth” needed to be in the title, never realizing how truth would one day be dismantled and dragged through the mud. People need TRUTH now more than ever. Also, considering I did not like to study in school, I am now writing my 12th Bible study. God has shown His faithfulness over and over again.
Of course, there are many more evidences God revealed Himself to me and He continues to do it every day. Each of these evidences helped to grow my faith, strengthen my resolve, remind me of His faithfulness, kept me from drifting, and reinforced my belief. And each of these evidences revealed more about God and His work in my life: His love, His presence, His promises, His provision.
Take some time today to reflect over your life, looking for God evidences… evidences you cannot deny. Write them down. And then thank the Lord for them.
